VIRTUAL AUDITIONS

1. Complete and sign the application form
2. You must also attach at the same time a video You Tube, Vimeo, Facebook or Twitch link recorded within the last 6 months
3. We are accepting vocals only (without playing an instrument)
4. Include your name in the title of the video

COMPETITION DIVISIONS

AGE 12 and UNDER as of May 7, 2023
AGE 13 to 19 as of May 7, 2023

NOTE: Winner of the 2022 12 and under may compete in the 13 to 19 division, winner of the 13 to 19 is not eligible to compete and will be recognized as a member of the Café-Lions Alumni.

FINALISTS
We will be selecting the top seven (7) in each division to move on to the finals. You will be asked to submit two (2) songs which may or may not include the song that was used at the audition. It is important to note that you should submit your two songs as soon as possible after being notified as there will not be song duplication. Once again first come first served.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

• 1ST PLACE WINNERS IN BOTH DIVISIONS $500
• 2ND PLACE WINNERS IN BOTH DIVISIONS $250
• 3RD PLACE WINNERS IN BOTH DIVISION $125

All competitors will receive a souvenir memento

AUDITION CRITERIA

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 11TH Annual Lions SuperSTARS Vocal Competition. Please review the following criteria to ensure your audition experience is both appropriate and rewarding.

DEADLINE DATE

Registrations must be received on or before March 3, 2023 (Has been extended to March 24th)

PREPARATION
Know your material. Your act should be polished and ready for an audience.

SELECTION OF MATERIAL
Your choice of material should be within your capability and must be suitable for a family audience.

REHEARSALS

Coaches will be working with each of the selected competitors. Working with an MP4, your Coach will work with you in preparing for a live-audition – You will be advised as the date and time on the weekend of May 5,6,7 2023

UNIQUENESS
What sets you apart from every other act in the show? What value can you bring to the production that will be memorable to an audience?

PRODUCER’S NOTES
Here are a few helpful hints to make your performance memorable:

• Up-tempo, high-energy songs are more impactful than ballads. Generally, they are also easier to perform.
• Avoid tackling ambitious power ballads if you’re not up to the challenge. Keep it real.
• You may be chosen to perform in the live show; however, you may have chosen a song that someone else has also selected. It is required to have a second choice in this case (or our panel may suggest something suitable).
• For the audition process only, vocalists may perform a cappella, to full or karaoke tracks, or with self-contained acoustic accompaniment.

REMARQUE : Le gagnant de la division 12 ans et moins 2022 peut concourir dans la division 13 à 19 ans. Le gagnant de la division 13 à 19 ans ne peut pas concourir et sera reconnu comme un membre des anciens du Café-Lions.

FINALISTES

Nous sélectionnerons les sept (7) meilleurs de chaque division pour passer aux finales. Il vous sera demandé de soumettre deux (2) chansons qui peuvent inclure ou non la chanson utilisée lors de l’audition. Il est important de noter que vous devez soumettre vos deux chansons dès que possible après avoir été notifié car il n’y aura pas de duplication des chansons. Une fois encore, les premiers arrivés seront les premiers servis.

DATE LIMITE D’INSCRIPTION

Les inscriptions doivent être reçues au plus tard le 3 mars 2023.

PRÉPARATION

Connaissez votre matériel. Votre numéro doit être soigné et prêt à affronter un public.

CHOIX DU MATÉRIEL

Votre choix de matériel doit être dans la limite de vos capacités et doit convenir à un public familial.

RÉPÉTITIONS

Les coachs travailleront avec chacun des concurrents sélectionnés. À l’aide d’un MP4, votre coach vous aidera à vous préparer pour une audition en direct. La date et l’heure vous seront communiquées le week-end des 5, 6 et 7 mai 2023.

UNIQUENSE

Qu’est-ce qui vous distingue de tous les autres numéros du spectacle ? Quelle valeur pouvez-vous apporter à la production qui sera mémorable pour le public ?

NOTES DU PRODUCTEUR

Voici quelques conseils utiles pour rendre votre spectacle mémorable :

• Les chansons rythmées et énergiques ont plus d’impact que les ballades. En général, elles sont aussi plus faciles à interpréter.
• Évitez de vous attaquer à des power ballades ambitieuses si vous n’êtes pas prêt à relever le défi. Restez réaliste.
• Vous pouvez être choisi pour participer au spectacle en direct, mais il se peut que vous ayez choisi une chanson que quelqu’un d’autre a également choisie. Il est nécessaire d’avoir un deuxième choix dans ce cas (ou notre jury peut suggérer quelque chose de convenable).
• Pour le processus d’audition uniquement, les chanteurs peuvent se produire a cappella, sur des pistes complètes ou karaoké, ou avec un accompagnement acoustique autonome.
